CHURCH DEVELOPMENT FUND GUIDELINES

The purpose of the grant is to:

Encourage local churches to take a chance and try something new

1. To Expand Existing Ministry
2. To Begin New Ministry

The project shall be spiritual growth or new member development oriented.

The Units expectation is that success will be difficult to measure and possibly different than expected.

The applicant will always be an investment partner (volunteer participation can be counted as investment) in the project.

A narrative plan that includes A, B, C, D and a project budget shall be submitted with the fund request.

2. Goals of the Project (what)
3. Strategy for achieving goals (how)
4. How the Project will be evaluated (did you succeed)

A face-to-face interview with applicants will be conducted prior to unit action.

Session endorsement of the request is required.

Funding for multi-year plans (not to exceed three years) will be considered. Multi-year plans will have an annual review conducted by the Funding Sub-unit and the Session.

Unit action is required for grant approval.
