1. Scholarships are available from both the
Presbytery Training and Development Committee and the Synod. (Information is
available on Synod scholarships upon request).
2. Ordinarily the scholarship will not be more
than 1/3 of the cost of the event. In special cases this percentage can be
modified.
Normal break down of payment for an event will be:
1/3 scholarship
1/3 local church
1/3 by the person attending
3. There is a scholarship limit of $ 500.00 per
person, per event.
4. There is a limit of one scholarship per
person each year.
5. This scholarship money is available to any
member of any church in the Presbytery or any clergy on the roll of Presbytery.
6. The Training and Development Committee will
be the body that approves these scholarships. If the Training and Development Committee
is not scheduled to meet before the deadline for the event, scholarships up to
$ 100.00 can be approved by any two of three, the General Presbyter, the Chair
of Training and Development Committee or the Chair of the Scholarship Sub-Committee.
7. No scholarships will be offered for degree
programs.
8. The event must have value for the life and
ministry of the congregations in our presbytery.
9. By accepting the scholarship the participant
agrees to share the experience gained in some meaningful way with the rest of
our presbytery (workshop leader, reporting to presbytery, participation in
discussions, etc.)
10. 10. Ordinarily scholarships funds will be
sent directly to the event providers.
