Preaching the Old Testament: Engaging the Whole Canon for a Changing Church February 17-19, 2020 - Richmond campus. This is an excellent opportunity to get a jump start on sermon preparation for Lent. Come join a community of learners led by faculty members, Dr. Samuel Adams and Dr. Richard Voelz. Together, the group will explore the challenges and opportunities of preaching the Old Testament for a changing church. And as the Lenten season will soon follow this workshop, a dive into the Revised Common Lectionary’s Old Testament texts will occur for this day and time in the church’s life.

Pastoral Care & Mental Healthcare Workshop March 3-4, 2020 - Richmond Campus. This workshop is designed to be extremely practical, and participants will leave with resources and responses related to pastoral care and mental healthcare and illness. Case studies and resources will be shared as well, including time for questions and answers with Dr. Schweitzer, who has tremendous experience and knowledge in the field.

Playology Workshop March 14, 2020 - Richmond campus. Playology is chock-full of interactive training and practical resources to integrate recreation and play into your ministry context. Participiants choose two workshop choices, led by experienced leaders and practitioners from the annual Arts, Recreation, and Worship Conference (ARW). Click here to download the event flyer. Dawe Lecture March 16, 2020 - Richmond campus. Save the date for the 2020 Dawe Lecture, when Dr. Roger Gench will present his lecture titled, Cruciform Mindfulness. The lecture, free and open to the public, will take place in Watts Chapel, with reception to follow.
